Inquiry against Dunkirk (second place), but he was cleared.
Mine That Bird was third. He came up from last place and really moved, but I think he moved at the wrong time. Summer Bird cut loose, came around on the outside, caught up and blew past.

The filly, Rachel Alexandra, winner of the Kentucky Oaks by about 20 lengths, beat the boys! Mine That Bird, winner of the Kentucky Derby by nearly 7 lengths very well, but had a little problem getting through and around horses. Still, he found an opening and came on very strong, nearly catching the filly in the final strides, taking second.

The only incident took place in the starting gate when Big Drama, post position nr. 1, bucked off his rider.
