I went to Walmart, this morning, and bought the ingredients I need for the dishes I'm making and now, I'm putting together the family's little Easter gifts. I give everyone a little something for Easter, because most people focus on the children and the adults are a little left out. Thus, I make sure "everyone" gets something for the holiday. This year, I found these cute gift boxes that have bunnies on the sides. I'm filling them with little Easter games and candy.
I'm a member of a message board that focuses on many holidays that occur throughout the year. People will write their traditions or special memories of that particular holiday. I thought it would be nice if we did that here. Do you have a fond memory of Easter? It could be from your childhood or during your adulthood.
For me, I just remember the excitement I had as a child, waiting for the Easter bunny. It seemed like it took FOREVER for the big day to arrive.
When the
day FINALLY arrived, I would wake to a big basket full of candy and some type of Easter toy. The rest of the day was spent with family. From my first memory,
the family has always come to the farm (my parents farm) for a large meal, egg hunt and good conversation. We'll be meeting on the farm this Sunday.
I just miss the Easter Sundays when my grandmother and nephew attended. They have both passed on, so they are greatly missed during the holidays. There is a definite void. I wish they could be with us this Easter, but I know they'll be there in spirit.
Does anyone else have a special memory?
